Symptoms
With Tick Data Suite v1.x installed, you get an update prompt informing you that version 2 is available. When trying to update you receive the message:
One of the files mandatory for update is missing from the server. Aborting.
Cause
Tick Data Suite v2 is a major update. In fact, it's a complete rewrite. The automatic update mechanism from TDS v1.x is designed to handle minor updates; this update changes everything and as such, unfortunately, it is not possible to update to TDS2 using the autoupdate procedure.
Resolution
Download the latest Tick Data Suite 2 from the Tick data downloads page and install it using the setup file.
Note that TDS2 changes everything about tick data backtesting. If you don't know anything about the new procedure, it is strongly recommended to read Tick Data Suite v2 public beta and Tick Data Suite v2 released.
